Los Cabos comprises the resort area of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, with a handful of sophisticated hotels and small towns offering luxury shopping, great restaurants and buzzing nightlife. Staying here allows easy access around Baja California, the world’s second-longest peninsula, with its sun-splashed beaches and tiny adobe towns, long roads offering beautiful coastal vistas and unspoilt beaches thrashed by impressive waves. The sea here has much more character than on the Caribbean side, so some of the beaches are unsuitable for swimming due to riptides. However the region is also famous for its surfing, so it’s ideal if you’re looking for an adrenaline rush.
