Cancun is perhaps Mexico’s most famous beach resort, with its beautiful white sand beaches, turquoise Caribbean waters and lively nightlife. As well as its long strip of high-rise hotels, the city is also home to a bustling centre packed with restaurants and bars. Many of Cancun’s hotels are set on the coast, with direct access to the beautiful beaches and the excellent snorkelling offshore. Located within easy reach of Maya monuments, popular diving areas, ecological attractions and other resorts along the coast, staying in Cancun offers excellent access to the Yucatan Peninsula.
When to travel
Cancun’s Caribbean Coast setting ensures that it benefits from plenty of sun and warm temperatures, but it’s also affected by the seasonal rains of July to early November. Go for the winter sun if you’re looking for a dry stay.
WEATHER: Warm, dry winters and hot, wet summers characterise Cancun’s tropical weather system.
