Viceroy Riviera Maya
Riviera Maya
OVERVIEW
Set on the beautiful white sands of the Riviera Maya, Viceroy Riviera Maya offers a beautifully tranquil place to relax on Mexico’s unspoilt Caribbean coast. A small resort, it has an intimate feel like a boutique residence and is located on a 7-mile stretch of Riviera Maya beachfront. The stunning ocean views are complimented by views of the dense jungle and mangrove canals that characterise the region. The 41 expansive villas are extremely private, some hidden amongst the jungle foliage and others situated on the beachfront. Every one of the villas has its own large patio area, with plunge pool, outdoor rainfall shower and sunbathing deck.
One of Viceroy Riviera Maya’s best highlights is its attentive service, which starts from the moment you arrive with a personalised check in. All villas have butler service, and all include enhanced amenities such as an aromatherapy turndown ritual to ensure a good night’s sleep, a pillow menu and a soap concierge. In keeping with this relaxed atmosphere, you can dine throughout the day in either of the restaurants or in your villa; we’d recommend the seafood, caught locally by sustainable fishing methods.
Though the hotel has just two fabulous restaurants, the menus are well thought out and include a mixture of contemporary Mexican favourites and international-style dishes with the typical Viceroy twist. However, should you wish to head out and explore there are a number of restaurants located at nearby hotels and in Playa Del Carmen, which is approximately 10 minutes way. The bright lights of Cancun are just 40 minutes’ drive away. We’d also recommend visiting local Maya ruins during your stay, such as the beautiful beachfront ruins at Tulum.
