Six Senses Zighy Bay
OVERVIEW
Six Senses Zighy Bay is a secluded paradise where you can actually paraglide to check-in. On the craggy northern coast of Oman’s Musandam Peninsula, separated from the rest of the country by a section of the UAE, Zighy Bay lets you get away from it all without sacrificing any amount of comfort, luxury or activity.
One thing’s for sure, you certainly won’t get bored. This is Arabian luxe with a twist, as adrenaline junkies will find just as much for them as spa fans or watersports fanatics. There’s an outdoor jungle gym, but for the real adventures you’ll need to head outside the resort.
Zighy Bay makes the most of its incredible location sandwiched between the mountains and the bay, offering a huge array of excursions including canyoning, rock climbing and mountain biking. The mountainous landscape and Arabian Sea on the doorstep provides a huge amount of opportunity for adventure, whether that’s watersports in the Arabian Sea or relaxing in the spa – even the cavernous Six Senses relaxation area takes its inspiration from the region’s mountains.

High walls offer privacy while sun loungers offer space to relax – you’ve even got a shaded dining area or summerhouse.

What and Where to Eat
If you’re a fan of Ottolenghi, you’ll love Zighy Bay. The Spice Market includes a feast worthy of an Arabian sultan, with organic dishes of regional importance such as grilled beef tenderloin served on giant cous cous, or fish marinated in Arabic spices. The Summer House is a little more relaxed but the food is no less delicious, and you can dine outside on a veranda overlooking the pool. The Edge is the hotel’s top choice, set 293m above sea level with a fine-dining menu to drool over. There’s a weekly (and unmissable) barbecue too.
