Rosewood Little Dix Bay
OVERVIEW
Rosewood Little Dix Bay was founded in 1964 by Laurance S. Rockefeller as a little patch of paradise for discerning travellers. He chose well. The island, now operated by luxury hotelier Rosewood, has so far dodged the grasping hands of rampant development that so many Caribbean islands have been plighted by and, some 50 years later, it continues to pamper and relax in immaculate, unspoilt surroundings.
The resort is currently under restoration, due to reopen in late 2017 after a comprehensive multi-million dollar refurbishment that will completely redesign all the guestrooms and suites, three restaurants, gardens and landscaping. The rebuilt Beach Grill will offer relaxed beach dining, while the existing Pavilion and Sugar Mill buildings will be extended to include indoor-outdoor dining areas.
The repeat clients of Rosewood Little Dix Bay (of which there are many) are just as discerning as they were in the sixties, so it’s unlikely to change much in its ethos – just a spruce to ensure it’s up to its exacting standards. We can’t wait to see what it looks like.

What to do
Virgin Gorda is the British Virgin Islands third biggest island and not only offers turquoise crystal clear waters but lush interiors to explore. The hike to the highest point, Gorda Peak is definitely worth it for views across the surrounding islands. On Virgin Gorda, you can try SNUBA, allowing you to go deeper than snorkelling and easier to master than diving.

What and Where to Eat
Previously, the hotel had three restaurants: open-air restaurant Pavilion served Caribbean food and simple, modern flavours; the Sugar Mill offered an extensive grill menu while the Beach Grill dished up Mediterranean delights just steps from the sand. The three restaurants are likely to stay the same but with enhanced facilities and extensive indoor-outdoor dining areas.
