Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa

Mallorca

OVERVIEW

The sprawling whitewashed complex of Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa, Mallorca, is staggered across a picturesque hilltop overlooking the beautiful Balearic Sea and the serrated peaks of the Tramuntana Mountains. The luxurious five-star resort affords spectacular views from almost all of its outdoor spaces and is set in an area where spending time in the great outdoors is almost an obligatory requirement.

Jumeirah Hotels’ only Mediterranean offering is a mere half-hour drive from Palma de Mallorca International Airport so getting into the thick of it is no problem – if you want to visit the cathedral, pretty Portixol or the shops of the capital then it’s easy to do so. And visit them you should, but why spend time in the bustling resorts of the south when you have the space of the Tramuntana on your doorstep? Avid cyclists and hikers flock to the region to conquer its many hills and valleys, but there are plenty of areas where you’ll feel like the only one around – because you are.

Amid all this natural beauty, Jumeirah Port Soller offers a refreshing base to unwind and relax. It’s decorated in soothing neutral tones, there’s a magnificent spa (you can view the mountains from inside the sauna) and the staff are truly wonderful – neither overbearing nor aloof.

Where to stay

All of the 121 spacious rooms are light and airy, designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. Beds are enormous and you’ll probably find artworks by local artists in your room. The choice of rooms is kept quite even, so you can pick from Superior, Deluxe, Grand Deluxe or Suites. Mountain and sea views serve as works of art themselves, the beautiful earthy colours of the Tramuntana or the emerald sea below reflected in the colours of the rooms. Each one has a balcony or terrace, and separate showers and bathtubs come as standard. You can’t really pick a bad room at this ocean-side idyll.
