Jade Mountain
OVERVIEW
Saint Lucia is an island dominated by colour. The sea is cerulean, the flowers all manner of cerise and scarlet and the island is blanketed in lush green. Jade Mountain is a reflection of all of the island’s spectacularly vibrant colours, from the deep reds of the spice island and the bold sapphire of the sky.
Rising above the resort of Anse Chastanet with the peaks of the Twin Pitons in the distance, this is a hotel with style. And it should be: designed by architect-owner Nick Troubetzkoy, the dazzling views are almost (almost) eclipsed by the sweeping curves and innovative design of the hotel. The hotel is designed to organically fit into the landscape, stepping down the hillside in a series of terraces linked by stone and wood, overflowing with foliage and blooms and tumbling waterfalls.
For a refreshing dip, the infinity pool reflects the changing colours of the sky, and you can wallow in the warm waters to the sound of acoustic musicians. When you’re this high up the stargazing is incredible, so take a walk to the appropriately-named celestial terrace to enjoy the views of the night sky.

Where to stay
There’s a reason that each of the rooms is called a ‘sanctuary’ – they are blissful havens of relaxation, connected by individual walkways so you feel stowed away from the world. Whether you choose a suite or a sanctuary you’ll discover there’s a wall missing – intentionally, of course – so your room is open to the sound of birdsong and the views of the beautiful Pitons.

What to do
When your room is described as a sanctuary you may not want to leave it, but if you do, there is plenty to do in and around Jade Mountain. Outside of the property’s 600 acres the island has a lush interior; you can even drive in a volcano at Sulphur Springs. There are pristine corals to dive and snorkel and the resort’s yacht is available for sunset cruises.

What and Where to Eat
Seasonal local produce is at the heart of Jade Mountain’s cuisine, much of which is sourced from its own organic farm. The team are happy to fully immerse you in their local ingredients so throughout the week there are culinary events from Caribbean Beach Tandoori cookery lessons to rum mixology classes.
