There’s a strong chance that if you’ve ever seen a photograph of Santorini, Greece’s most picturesque island, it included a vista of the Grace Santorini, or at least the view from the hotel. In prime position in the epicentre of the island, the Grace is arranged in typical Cycladic style in stepped buildings down the side of the cliff overlooking the caldera, the sparkling Aegean Sea and the great hulk of Skaros Rock, one of Santorini’s most recognisable landmarks.
The volcanic plug sits immediately opposite the hotel, so all views look onto it. And what a view it is. From your whitewashed room cut into the hill you can look out over the spectacular landscape, whether from your bed, secluded terrace or your private plunge pool. The Grace is an incredibly chic hotel, but thankfully form doesn’t outweigh function. The chalky white buildings reflect the sizzling sun that beats down over the island, so inside always feels cool (and of course, there is air conditioning).
Nearby you’ll find the charming village of Imerovigli, and the island’s capital Fira, is just a short, stunning walk away. At the tip of the island the village of Oia is widely lauded for having the best sunsets, but having experienced both we can confirm that the sunset from your terrace at the Grace is just as spectacular

What to do
Swim in the award-winning infinity pool, one of the biggest and most beautiful on the island, wander to Fira to explore the winding streets and take in the sunset from a different angle, visit one of the black sand beaches and swim in crystal clear waters or meander around Oia’s shops. What and Where to Eat
Meals here are served at the poolside restaurant Santoro; dine inside, outside under brollies or in two alcoves and take in views of the caldera and wine-dark sea below. We love the highly rated six-course champagne breakfast featuring fresh local produce that changes daily, but it’s in the evening that Santoro comes to life, serving up delicious Mediterranean fusion creations that will please even the toughest of gourmands.
