Where to stay
Each of the villas here at Landaa Giraavaru fit in with the UNESCO reserve feel of the resort. Made in a local style using thatched palm roofs and recycled coral cladding, each stunning property is based on traditional island bales and decorated with local antiques. However, despite the traditional feel, don’t worry – all the villas come complete with the mod cons you would expect from a luxury resort such as coffee machines and iPod docks.

What to do
As with many Four Seasons properties, you will be spoilt for choice with the range of activities available, such as becoming a manta ray scientist for the day as you assist the marine biologists at the Maldivian Manta Ray Project. Little ones can join the activities at the Kids for All Seasons Centre. Over at the spa, immerse yourself in an Ayurvedic treatment or for something a little different try an anti-gravity yoga session where you can master the art of suspension to relieve aches and pains.

What and Where to Eat
Whilst the restaurants and bars serve a range of cuisines you may prefer a more secluded location. Jump on a speedboat to a deserted sandbank or dine on a floating platform in the middle of the ocean. Families love the beach barbecues that can be arranged.
