Belmond Hotel Caruso

Amalfi

OVERVIEW

The highest point of the town of Ravello is the beautiful setting for Belmond Hotel Caruso, voted by ‘Travel+Leisure’ readers as one of the World’s Top 50 Hotels last year. You’ll soon see why too, as a combination of location, service and attention to detail firmly ensures its position on any ‘top hotel’ list. The 11th century palazzo seems to flow from its gasp-inducing infinity pool straight into the Tyrrhenian Sea, where you can board Belmond’s own Ercole, a traditional wooden boat that will take you on an afternoon tour of the Amalfi Coast.

The Bay of Salerno makes for a truly atmospheric backdrop for much of the hotel’s grounds, offering guests stunning views as they relax on their luxury holiday. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the patio, with pastries replaced every half an hour to ensure optimum freshness, whilst you can enjoy walks through the sprawling terraces and tiered gardens, stepping down the hillside fronting the sea. Alternatively, relax by the pool and enjoy the exceptional Belmond service bottles of Evian and snacks such as fresh fruit appetizers. Nothing is too much trouble here, a fact embodied by the concierge who will be on hand to bring you an iPod preloaded with your choice of music as you wallow in the pool’s gently heated waters. It’s all part of the Belmond service and just one reason why people return time and time again.
