Amanpuri
Phuket
OVERVIEW
In true Aman fashion, the name of this luxurious Phuket resort reflects the essence of the location. In Sanskrit, Amanpuri translates as ‘place of peace’. Blissful Pansea Beach is the setting for this little slice of minimalist heaven. A graceful crescent of immaculate white sand juts out on a secluded peninsula into the Andaman Sea. It is quiet enough that you can relax and unwind but with enough going on in the local area that you’ll have plenty of restaurants to try for special evenings out.
The design is sleek and teak, all polished hardwoods and spacious pavilions set among coconut groves leading down to the private beach. The beach and the glittering, deep blue pool are the basis for a good time at the resort. Slink around the pool in your best resort wear or saunter down to the beach. There you can embark on a voyage of discovery across the turquoise waters of the tranquil coast. Or under the waters, if you decide to scuba dive among the immaculate coral reefs. The resort has a fleet of vessels to charter so you can motor across the gleaming surface of the sea, uncovering hidden coves and secret beaches.
Phuket is not only a beach paradise but also a centre of rich cultural identity. Escape for the day and explore one of the 30 temples dotted about the island or tee off on a championship golf course, if you’re feeling energetic.
